If you love someone, whoever it is, you will understand this poem.
Hope you enjoy it.
The thing that owns
Import to me
That shows value
Eternally
May seem small to you
But you are not me
My perspective
Is unique to me
My world
My spark
My reason to be
A warm and friendly smile
Feeling down and alone
A hot day but I'm cold
Rage ignites
Inside of me
Enough is enough
I turn to rampage
Not love
I'm in pain
Psychologically
Then along comes my muse
Tempering violent views
Hurricane returns back
To gentle breeze
The reason is clear
There's no reason to fear
All that matters to me
Is what I can now see
My world
My spark
My reason to be
A warm and friendly smile
Poem grabs the power of personal connection, how much we can matter to each other.
ReplyDeleteFor love makes the world go round! :) And what is a smile, but a gesture of unconditional love?
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it. Makes you think that you cannot be loved the way you would have liked, if you haven't learnt to love yourself the same way.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this poem, I am reminded that we are free to be who and what we are and what we choose. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteAndy, this is truly a beautiful poem!
ReplyDelete"A hurricane...to a gentle breeze", yes it's true isn't it. Sometimes just a touch or a look from someone you love can quell frustration or despair. The greatest treasure in the world if you can find it.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for the ability to write when emotions are at the boiling point. Beautiful!

I have to concur with everyone else.
ReplyDeleteA warm smile can be so inviting and yes calming and when it's in the form of the one you love, how sweeter the feeling is.
Very nicely done.
